fitbit-charge-2_family-nzdadsWhen the original Fitbit Charge sport-band was released, it set the bar for fitness bands. With the announcement of the new Fitbit Charge 2, we were really interested to see if Fitbit would raise the bar once again.

The first thing you’ll notice upon unpacking the Charge 2 is the much bigger display. In fact, the display is now 4 times bigger than the original Charge. I found this really useful. I can now see the time, date, heart rate, and step count, all on the one display. This makes it so much easy while I’m at the gym, as I found myself constantly flick through the different display views on the old Charge. The display is crisp and clean, and very easy to see while out cycling or running too.

The new strap feels more solid that its predecessor, and now they have taken the thing I loved best about the Blaze – the ability to change the straps. There is a great range of genuine straps from Fitbit available. They have released genuine leather straps for the Charge 2, giving you a professional looking sports band, while it still meeting your fitness needs.

I really enjoy the little messages that pop up on the Charge 2 as well. While I’m hard at work at my desk it vibrates and gives me reminders when I need to get up and go for a walk. It also has a new feature, the “guided breathing session”. This offers two or five-minute breathing exercises that are personalised to your heart rate. I find this really useful in self-care and stress management.

Overall I found the new Charge 2 is really on the pulse and has set the bar once again. Puns aside, it has a lot of great new features that you’ll find useful in your workouts and in general everyday life.

Yeah when I go jogging, one of the most annoying things is it’s hard to track how much distance I’ve covered so I would love to get one of these bad boys.
