Star rugby player and father of four Cory Jane is getting behind Repco’s Dad of the Year award and calling for nominations to find the best dad in New Zealand.
“I’m really proud of being a dad, and I’d like to think that my kids also appreciate me and think I am pretty cool,” said Cory.
“I know there are so many other fathers out there trying to ensure their children grow up to be the best they can be, which is what makes them great dads. They all deserve to be nominated as a dad of the year.”
The top voted dad will win a $10,000 cash prize and the title of Repco Dad of the Year.
From now until 7 September people can put forward their dad – or someone else’s dad who they believe is a worthy choice – via the website www.dadoftheyear.co.nz.
To enter people must share, in 50 words or less, why their dad deserves to be Repco’s Dad of the Year and upload a photo to be in the running. The overall winner will be determined by public vote, with the most ‘voted’ dad on the website crowned Repco’s Dad of the Year, taking home the cash prize.
Repco New Zealand’s Executive General Manager Mr Mark Brunton said Repco is looking for dads who are inspirational role models who have a strong commitment to their family as well as the community as a whole.
“A top dad supports their kids, encourages them to pursue their dreams and do their best no matter what,” he said.
Repco stores are also getting in the spirit with Dad of the Year mugs on sale in-store for just $5, with all proceeds going to Canteen New Zealand. For more information and to nominate your choice for Dad of the Year visit www.dadoftheyear.co.nz.
