YMCA Auckland’s Family Memberships give families a way to come together, connect and improve their health through through physical activity.
Alarming recent statistics show that Kiwi kids and adults are unhealthier than ever before, so the well-known, not-for-profit family community organisation is hoping their memberships will also plant the seeds of hope and health for families in local communities.
Seeking to bridge the gap between family members through physical recreation, YMCA Auckland wants to create an environment in which the whole family can come together – from the car ride there to car ride home – and enjoy getting fit and healthy together, under the same roof.
There’s something for everyone in your family – no matter their age, interests or goals – at YMCA Auckland’s centres, with programmes and services supporting people from six months of age to the elderly who are still young at heart. There are also family-friendly fitness classes, such as Zumba, boxing and Pilates, that are run in a modified format best suited to parents and children.
Within their inclusive, encouraging environment, YMCA Auckland wants to foster a love of physical pursuits in all family members, while connecting and strengthening the bonds between them, which may have been disconnected over time.
These goals are behind the organisation’s Family Membership, which allows families to participate and use YMCA facilities together, as a family. It also embodies YMCA Auckland’s vison of building strong kids, strong families and strong communities.
Note: The membership can be used at any YMCA Recreation or Aquatics Centre in Auckland or Hamilton.
In this spirit, YMCA Auckland wants to give one lucky Auckland family the chance to experience all their Family Memberships have to offer, so they’re giving away one of their all-inclusive memberships (up to the value of $1,000) to a lucky NZDads reader.
